Aerial Lighting & Automotive Photography

I love Teslas.  The Tesla 3 is a car that may actually be a practical car for my long commute in the future, but for this shoot, it was simply fun to play with the lighting and with the gray color of the car, I thought it would be badass to add the red accenting and experiment with aerial spotlighting from about 45′ above.  It worked out fairly well but I would have liked a better background to work with.  (It was at a garage for detailing “Inside-Out Detailing in North Smithfield, RI” and not a lot of open space).

Ideally, I would have liked an open field, starry sky or city-scape for this kind of shot, but you have to work with what you got and I didn’t want to over-Photoshop and drop the car into the scenary artificially.

There are things I would do differently next time, but mainly, I would choose to do the next shoot when there’s not a 0° windchill as it definitely rushed the shooting process.

Shoutout to Brad and Inside-Out Detailing for the opportunity to play!
